Adelaide University Solar Racing Team (AUSRT)

In 2014, a team of final year engineering students designed and commenced the manufacture of a solar car for participation in the 2015 World Solar Challenge open link in new window. The School of Mechanical Engineering is a proud supporter and sponsor of the AUSRT.

The 2015 World Solar Challenge is a design and build competition that focuses on sustainable energy management and to find the world’s most efficient electric vehicle. The race will start in Darwin on Sunday 18 October and finish on 25 October 2015 in Adelaide. The team will be competing 'Lumen' in the Challenger class which focuses on producing a fast and slick aerodynamic vehicle.

Adelaide University Motorsport Team

The Adelaide University Motorsport Team (AUMT), was as founded in 2001 to compete in the annual Formula SAE Australasia competition which began in 2000.

The Adelaide University Motorsport Team (AUMT) has recently started an association with the University Sport Association who have permitted the establishment of the Adelaide University Motorsport Club; an initiative by the team to have a hub on campus for everything motorsport while also hosting and supporting the race team. The School of Mechanical Engineering offers in-kind sponsorship to the AUMT.
