Sound at frequencies above 20 kilo-Hertz is called ultrasound and can be used for a range of purposes such as imaging, detection of defects within solids, enhancing chemical reactions, water treatment to remove algae.
Examples of research projects include
- Ultrasound for the control of blue-green algae (cynabacteria).
- Determination of the biomass concentration.
- Quantification of sedimentation.
