The Effects of Low-Frequency Noise and Vibration on People

Colin H. Hansen (2007)

Multi-Science Publishing Co. Ltd., ISBN 978-0906522455, p416

Abstract:

For communities near industrial facilities and transportation systems, the health effects of noise and vibration are an important issue, and this collection of articles brings together the latest research on the subject from 30 experts in such varied fields as environmental health, mechanical engineering, occupational health, and psychology. Topics covered include perception thresholds for low-frequency noise, effects in terms of sleep deprivation and overall comfort, and observable physiological effects. Because of the interdisciplinary focus of the material, the findings also highlight issues of interest to corporate research departments, insurance companies, regulatory agencies, and trade unions.

This material is now only available to staff and students of the University of Adelaide.
