Author's reply to a Note on "Investigation and modelling of the wall pressure field beneath a turbulent boundary layer at low and medium frequencies"

Damien J.J. Leclercq (2004)

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 274 (1-2), p407-410

Abstract:

The authors of Ref. [1] would like to acknowledge the consideration Smol yakov and Tkachenko gave to their comments. As a preliminary, it should be noted that the aim of this publication is to propose a novel, alternative model established on a thorough set of experiments and interpretations, hoping that some members of the research community may nd it useful. With this intention, the authors attempted to de ne a set of fundamental parameters that determine the properties of a uctuating surface pressure eld in a low Mach number turbulent boundary layer. The importance and legitimacy of all previous work is by no means questioned in this paper, which should be seen as a proposed contribution to the advancement of knowledge in its area.
